3

Copy or save

Copy the result, save an image, or share a link that opens with your message filled in.

The timing rule

A dot is one unit. A dash is three. Leave one unit inside a letter, three between letters and seven between words.

At 20 WPM, one dot is 60 ms. The letters SOS take 27 units: about 1.6 seconds.

Built and checked by Morse Beacon Team

Morse Beacon is built and maintained by a small team of web developers and amateur-radio hobbyists who wanted Morse code tools that work on a phone, in a browser, with nothing uploaded. Every translation table is built on ITU-R M.1677-1, plus common non-ITU punctuation such as !, and checked by automated round-trip tests on every release; prosigns and abbreviations are cited to ITU-R M.1172 and ARRL operating guides. The microphone and camera decoders are tested against real recordings from phones, not only synthetic signals. If anything looks wrong, report it to morsebeacon@gmail.com.
